“Adah gave birth
to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and raise livestock.” Genesis 4:20
We know Jabal wasn’t the first to keep livestock. Abel kept flocks before his brother killed
him so it’s not like Jabal invented ranching or anything. Maybe he took it and made a big name for
himself in the ranching/livestock community.
Like to today we have people like Sam Walton or Bill Gates. Neither invented their perspective fields,
but if you think about grocery stores, Sam Walton automatically comes to mind
and for computers, Bill Gates. Perhaps
Jabal was the Bill Gates of ranching of his day.
