Genesis 8:2

"Now the springs of the deep and the flood gates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky."  Genesis 8:2

 

In Genesis 7:11 the great springs of the deep burst forth and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.  Now these are closed as the waters are receding.  God is stopping the chaos from continuing to pour out over the face of the earth.  He didn't immediately just remove all the flood waters that were keeping Noah and his family trapped in the ark, but he did stop more from coming.

 

Even now we have times of trouble where it seems the bad just keeps on coming, but those times will come to an end.  When those times are over he will stop the struggles from multiplying.  He may not completely remove are trials and struggles, but he will keep them from utterly over running us.  And he will even stop more from coming while the current issues run their course and pass on by.  We have to trust God to keep us from being completely flooded and drowning.
